Michael Owen predicts Sunderland v Chelsea Premier League clas

Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen has backed Chelsea to ease to victory over Sunderland on Saturday.

Jose Mourinho’s side will take on the Black Cats away from home in the Premier League and will be heavy favourites to win the contest.

Chelsea will head into the fixture placed at the top of the Premier League table with 32 points from 12 matches, while Sunderland are currently just three points above the relegation zone in 14th.

Owen believes that the London outfit will pick up all three points from their trip to the Stadium of Light and wrote on Betvictor.com: “Chelsea go marching on at the top-of-the-table and I can’t see this Sunderland side, who struggle for goals, preventing what would be a tenth successive home Premier League defeat against the Blues.

“Indeed Chelsea have won 17 of the last 19 PL games between the sides although the Black Cats gained a famous win at Stamford Bride when fighting for the PL lives back in the spring.”

The Sunderland players do have it in themselves to stage an upset and pick up a win against Chelsea, but given the imperious form of the league leaders one should place one’s money on the Blues.
